Player: Draka
Name: Douglas Treo
Codename: Tecton
Age: 32
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 300
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Nationality: Caucasian
Occupation: Professor of Music at the school.
Appearance: Mr. Treo is a large man. A very, very large man. He is not overweight, he simply is composed of unusually thick bones and flesh, and is very tall, with very broad shoulders; a clean-cut, blocky sort of shape. However, Douglas Treo is not a scary man, nor an imposing man. His short, neat hair, intelligent eyes, and calm expression simply exude so much class and style that one cannot imagine him behaving in any beastly way to make use of his powerful bulk. He has a kind, neatly round face with wise pale-brown eyes and small features, exaggerated in comparison to his massive shoulders and enormous hands. Mr. Treo is always well dressed, and prefers to wear suits and take his duly-earned 'Professor' title seriously. Though he is a gentle soul, he has a deep, powerful voice and tends to boom when relaxed.
Costume: Tecton's costume is not standard fare; no brightly-colored skin-tight flimsy spandex. No, his 'super suit' is for work. Heavy boots and thick gloves are hung over by the sleeves and legs of his loose, thick pants and overshirt. The shirt layers again over the chest, and the outfit is held together by large brass rivets. A brass collar fits under his throat, around his neck, protecting his voice box and bracing his neck. A thick leather mask covers his nose and mouth, buckling behind his head, a few screened slits to breathe through. The whole outfit is a nice earthy brown, as it would be that color regardless.
Personality: A gentle giant, a quietly passionate man. He is the reverse of the standard Evo Force member; this 'crime fighting' is not for him. He is here to teach, to express his knowledge and forward his passion. Violence, anger - he despises these things. He is gentle and fair to everyone, and only gets loud when he is a little over-excited. As Tecton, he fights with disdain, using simple, stylish maneuvers to try to end things with as little fuss as possible.
Background: Douglas Treo was born to a poor family in a poor part of Brooklyn. He was a small child, and it was not a good neighborhood. While he had parents that loved him and a large extended family of neighbors, he did not like this place. He went hungry, he went without. As a smaller child he would get picked on, pushed around, beat up. He was a very smart child as well, more intelligent than the seething masses and in as much there was difficulty relating to his peers. Peers? It was a public school in Brooklyn, he had trouble relating to his teachers.
He felt this place was not for him. Nothing about his life was making him happy, and being poor was logically part of the problem. He turned to TV, and ended up watching a lot of public broadcasting. The sheer culture and class of it all appealed to him, striking him as the opposite of the world he hated.
Music was an outlet for him. It flowed through his body so powerfully that no instrument could contain him, and so he became primarily a singer.
A prepubescent virtuoso does not impress the seething masses, though, so the harassment only got worse. This was the beginning to an almost pathological disgust for violence, anger, and ignorance. Blessing, then, that as he began to mature he hit a growth spurt. He grew, and grew, and grew, and before it was over he was towering over everyone in... well, most of Brooklyn.
A living tank of a teenager, as he plowed through the seething masses, life was different. The huge fists, giant muscles; THESE things impressed the riffraff, and he was soon left to his own devices. The muscles and bulk and such meant nothing to Doug, what thrilled him was the big barrel chest he'd developed and the window-rattling double-bass voice he'd developed.
He excelled in his studies and mastered his music classes, and when he graduated he was rewarded. While he had not yet escaped from Brooklyn, he was granted sanctuary from it in the form of the Brooklyn Academy of Music. He flourished there, learning to play all sorts of instruments and training his voice. He found his career path; though the life of an opera singer was grand, he wanted to combat the ignorance he'd come to despise. He would become, an educator! And an opera singer on the side. He hunted down that Professor title like it was a mythic treasure, and he got it!
Life was alright at this point. He was a young professor, he had a good job, he was with intelligent people and had the money for the things he wanted. He was walled off from Brooklyn and the seething masses. Still, if his story ended here, he would not be very interesting, would he?
One can't get everything they need in a musical sanctuary and Professor Treo had to venture out from time to time. One such trip took him, as well off people often are taken, to the bank. To make a long story short, the bank was robbed. This act of violent ignorance brought back old feelings from childhood, and his heart thundered in his chest. He stepped in to stop them! One of them shot him in the chest, which did a lot of good.
Like music, he felt vibration all around him. Instinctively, he drew these into himself, and they moved! Soon it proved it wasn't 'vibrations' moving toward him, but the very earth beneath the bank!
The rock formed up his leg, and his side, and out onto his arm. It formed into a massive arm and fist, even more massive than his real arm and fist. He narrowed his eyes in disgust at these men. He raised his giant earth fist, bringing it down at the men and...
Knocking them over and pinning them to the ground. What? He's not an animal. Please.
Fortunately, the robbers had been thoughtful enough to disable the security cameras and so Doug became a momentary hero instead of a mutant menace. Still, the event changed him. Out of sheer curiosity, he learned to use these powers. Though they were violent and destructive, they were his. Better yet, this connection with the earth allowed him to feel those vibrations always. The music now truly flowed through him, into his core and back out to his fingertips. It is ecstasy.
Life was different, now. He feared he could not stay where he was; after all, it would only be so long before someone recognized his rather distinguishable self and outed him. Even more, he realized something awful: at the music school, he was devoting his life to teaching a love of music to people who... already loved music. He needed to be somewhere he could change things, and help people out of the seething masses and into his world of class and style. When he was contacted by this strange school out east, it was too much of an opportunity to pass up! So, he packed up his things, and he left Brooklyn. Forever.

Source of Income- Paid by the school, a little bit more because he is a real Professor.
Origin of Powers: Mutant
Powers: Tactile Terrakinesis- Douglas can control any inert earthen material that he is in contact with, or earthen material that is in contact within earthen material that he is in contact with, at Amazing(60) ability.
Note: While Doug does not normally make use of such processed materials, asphalt and concrete and the like are earthy enough to use as a conduit for his powers, letting him get to the earth below.
Earth Magnet- While Douglas cannot normally control earth at a range, he can attract the stuff to himself. This his useful on hardwood floors. He can draw earth directly toward his body, from up to 60 feet away!
Tremorsense- Douglas has a 6th sense, allowing him to feel the vibrations in the solid ground around him. He can detect anything ion contact with the same ground as himself up to 60 feet so long as there is movement around. If not, he could always stomp a few times. This ability can replace his vision entirely under proper conditions, though of course he cannot 'see' things such as color with it.
Tough as Stone Amazing(60) Toughness, 60 extra HP
Natural Armor- Douglas has Good(10) natural armor vs all damage.
Shape Earth- Doug can shape earth and rock around him up to a 60 foot radius. This cannot be used as an attack, but it can be used defensively when Dough has better initiative. Roll Amazing(60) to use this power, though there may be modifications based on how complicated what he wants to do is. A structure has Remarkable(20) Armor and Amazing (60) HP on a Yellow.
*Ground Wave- By constantly shaping the earth below his feet, Tecton can push himself along at a consistent speed without exhausting his body. Roll Amazing(60) to get going, a Yellow gets him moving at 30 mph.
Layered Earth Armor- Tecton's primary combatative use of his powers involves a thick second-skin of earthy armor. This enhances his physical abilities, but if it does not do so well enough, he can add another layer. At his Amazing(60) degree of control, he can have up to 6 layers. Attempting to add layers is an action, but can be done as multiple actions. A Yellow adds up to two layers.
Each layer adjusts his physical stats and makes him taller, tougher, and more powerful. For sake of convenience, here are his stats at all 6 layers.
**Layer 1
*Fighting====== Remarkable (20)
*Agility======= Remarkable (20)
*Strength====== Fantastic (30)
*Natural Armor= Good (10)
*Height======== 10 feet

**Layer 2
*Fighting====== Excellent (14)
*Agility======= Excellent (14)
*Strength====== Incredible (40)
*Natural Armor= Remarkable (20)
*Height======== 20 feet
----------------------------
Note: From level 3 up, Tecton is blind. See Weaknesses.
**Layer 3
*Fighting====== Excellent (14)
*Agility======= Excellent (14)
*Strength====== Spectacular (50)
*Natural Armor= Remarkable (20)
*Height======== 30 feet
----------------------------
**Layer 4
*Fighting====== Good (10)
*Agility======= Good (10)
*Strength====== Amazing (60)
*Natural Armor= Fantastic (30)
*Height======== 40 feet
----------------------------
**Layer 5
*Fighting====== Good (10)
*Agility======= Good (10)
*Strength====== Phenomenal (80)
*Natural Armor= Fantastic (30)
*Height======== 50 feet
----------------------------
**Layer 6
*Fighting====== Typical (8)
*Agility======= Typical (8)
*Strength====== Monstrous (100)
*Natural Armor= Incredible (40)
*Height======== 60 feet
----------------------------
Note: Tecton's armor is complicated and has several restrictions and conditions. Not valid in the state of Alaska. Please see Weaknesses.
*Layered Limb- Tecton can roll Amazing to add additional layers to a single limb, probably his arm. On a Yellow this layers his limb up 2 levels beyond his current layer, even if he is at Layer 0. This cannot take a limb beyond Layer 6. A layered limb has the Strength of the layer it is at but Doug retains the stats of the layer he is at. If something would cause Doug to lose a layer, the limb also loses a layer.
*Boulder Throw- While layered up and in contact with the ground, Tecton can summon up and hurl a boulder for a ranged attack. This does 10 points of damage for each layer he has on his body.
*Fistshape- Tecton can reshape the earth on his fists to deal his choice of bludgeoning, piercing, or even crude slashing damage.
*Hand Cage- If Tecton grabs someone with a Layer 2 or bigger hand, he can detach it and leave it holding them, then send an action to grow a hand back. At Layer 4 or higher, he only needs beat them on a Fighting roll and he can drop his hand down around them as a cage without grabbing them in the first place.
Seismic Stomp- With a mighty stomp and a Strength roll, Tecton can cause a short range earthquake. Anyone within a radius equal to 60 + his height must roll Strength or Agility vs his or be knocked down. Anything that doesn't, can't, or won't dodge is thrown to the ground. They take damage equal to his Strength -40 (this attack only starts to hurt when he starts to get big). This attack is indiscriminate and affects anyone on the ground.
Note: Careful around fault lines.
Crescendo- Combining his love of music with his powers, an unarmored Tecton can let out a mighty bellow of beautiful sound. Roll Psyche. On a Yellow this deals Good(10) damage with Fantastic(30) Armor Piercing to absolutely anything within a 60 foot quarter-circle in front of him so long as it has some rigid component. This attack is indiscriminate and targets need not be on the ground.
Dirt Dive- Doug can go underground and travel along at great speeds. Roll Amazing(60) to get going. On a Yellow he starts off at 60 mph.
Earthen Sustenance- Doug does not need to breathe so long as he is encased in earthen material.

Equipment: As Powers above, you don't need to write anything here but hey feel free. 'Equipment' is stuff you carry, from a weapon to a high tech gadget. If you have a gun, post it here.
Costume- Tecton's costume is interwoven with silicate fibers to the point it classifies as 'earthen material' for the purpose of transmitting his powers into other earth.
Wrinkle-Proof Suit- Douglas has a full suit made of a special material that will not wrinkle. It is kept rolled up and in a metal can the size of a tall energy drink can, and can be pulled out at any time to make him look his best.
Evo Force Badge- The Evo Force badge acts as a communicator, able to contact the other badges, the E2 badges, and the home base. It has walkie-talkie range of 10 miles, or can be routed through the home base to work anywhere in North America.
Weaknesses:
Layer Loss- Any attack that deals more than Amazing(60) pre-armor damage causes his outermost layer to crumble away. He retains the Armor rating of that layer in reference to that attack, but immediately after he is at the next level down.
Can't Jump- Once layered up, Tecton must remain in contact with the ground. He may not use his enhanced strength to launch himself into the air.
Blind- At layer 0 thru 2 his armor does not protect his eyes and they may be targeted with an enhanced called shot. At level 3 the armor closes over his eyes and he must rely on his Tremorsense and sense of hearing instead. He will be treated as Blind (-4) to dealing with airborne entities unless they are making sufficient noise.
Erosion- Some things that would do negligible or little damage normally can actually 'damage' his armor in terms of causing layer loss. Things such as high powered water hoses or sandstorms can eat away at his crunchy shell. GM Discretion.
Unconventional Earth- Tecton's powers refer to regular dirt and rock. Other Earth may have different effects.
*Sand- Trying to use sand to layer up gives him +2 Fighting and Agility (not to exceed his default stats) and -2 Strength (not to go below his default stat) and his Armor rating is halved (not to go below his default stat). Tecton cannot make constructs or raise walls to block with sand.
*Clay/Mud- Trying to use clay or mud gives him -3 to Strength (not to go below his default stat) and doubles his Armor. Tecton cannot make constructs or raise walls to block with clay or mud.
*Concrete- Trying to use highly processed man-made stuff like solid concrete has the same effects as regular rock and earth, but he is at -3CS to affect it because that stuff is puuuuuuuut together. This does not affect his Seismic Stomp.
*Permafrost- If all the dirt within reasonable range is frozen, Tecton is at -2 to affect it, but layered up it gives him an extra +1cs to Armor and +10 damage to his boulders. This does not affect his Seismic Stomp.
*Lava- If Tecton tries to layer up with lava, he will die. Don't do it! Otherwise, moving molten earth is actually at +2cs because it is much more agreeable to movement. At GM discretion if lava is available Tecton may be able to throw a lavaball.
Note: If someone tries to use heat to solidify his clay or mud or sand body, it just reverts to regular earth. Duh.
Another note: trying to soak Tecton's body to make it into mud would take too long to be feasible in combat.
Boats- Maritime adventures are risky. If he wants dirt out there he better bring some with him.
Contacts: Mr. Treo has many contacts in the classical music and opera world, if that will do any good.
Knowledges: Doug knows all about music, and a fair bit about geology.
Skills: Douglas Treo is an opera singer, a deep double bass with few peers in the community. He is also skilled or at least knowledgeable about playing most instruments.
Notable Notes:
Alright, here is the formula for Doug's layers.
Fighting- -1 each even-numbered layer
Agility - -1 each even-numbered layer
Strength- +1 each layer
Armor - +1 each even-numbered layer
Height - 10 feet at layer 1, +10 feet each layer/
