VINDICATOR
Player: Malcolm Wrynn
Name: Malcolm Wrynn
Codename: Sandstorm
Age: 29
Height: 6'2
Weight: 200
Hair: Black
Eyes: Black
Nationality: German-American
Occupation: Vindicator.
Appearance: Tall, fairly handsome with a vertical scar (constantly looking mostly-healed) on his left cheek.
Costume: Tan trenchcoat, (With the V-symbol on his left breast)
Personality: Confident, eager to please the crowd and his fellow heroes. Having some of the flashiest powers tends to do that to a fellow. Loyal, likes to think that he would die to save his friends, but if he were ever faced with a situation where he truly thought he might die, he might have a sudden attack of cowardice.
Background: Malcolm was born in nevada, a 4th generation immigrant to the US. Frankly, all he knows about Germany can be summed up in pop culture, and in a few words he speaks of the language..he's not even fluent in it. Good grades, a bit of an idealist though. Planned on becoming a scientist when he was older..spent most of his time as a teenager sneaking off to watch tests in a nearby experimental portion of the desert. Not that they ever advertised such things, but sometimes the special effects were worth watching. However, he soon had the bright idea of experimenting on the experiments. He'd leave little trinkets in the field, <coins, buttons and the like> and come back afterwards to see how they changed. Sometimes they reacted oddly, blowing away into dust..other times, there was nothing left at all. One day however, he went out too late, and was caught in an improptu re-testing. He was dematerialized and rematerialized with the sand itself. His body destroyed, he reformed himself into something approximating the same body.
Long story short, he's had time to practice with his powers, and uses them to protect (and awe) the civilian populace.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fighting----- (#) Decent fighter, has spent a little time learning hand to hand attacks from those with more experience. Not his specialty, however...
Agility------ (#) Extremely nimble and well-coordinated, even out of his sand form. Supernaturally quick.
Strength----- (#) When in sand form, extremely strong. A definite 'powerhouse' in this regard.
Endurance---- (#) Even ignoring the fact that being made out of sand makes it a -little- harder to hurt him, he's -very- tough and hard to permanently injure.
Reasoning---- (#) Smart, but not outstandingly brilliant. Just your average 'Has a brain and knows how to use it' fellow.
Intuition---- (#) Decent instincts, but not supernaturally gifted.
Psyche------- (#) Very strong willpower and sense of self, very strong.
Hit Points:
Mental health:
Resources: Excellent
Source of Income- Vindicator! Probably doesn't do much else.
Origin of Powers: (I lumped it into the background.)
Powers:
Mineral Body: Malcolm is perpetually transformed into sand. He can look, talk, and act like a normal human being, but his skin is cool, and he lacks any sort of biology or physiology that can be understood. He does eat and sleep, but how organics are digested by a sand-creature(Or how REM can exist for something without a frontal lobe..) is all but impossible to say.
---Stunt: Can pour himself through tiny openings with ease.
---Stunt: Can elongate to a good degree.
---Stunt: Can absorb standard sand to heal himself, replenishing his body.
---Stunt: Can form objects(Such as cages) from the sand, hardening it briefly (Much like tensing a muscle..) into something solid enough to prevent someone from walking through it.
Armor Skin: Malcolm's sand particles are significantly resistant against physical attacks, and most energy attacks as well, though far from invulnerable.
Matter Control: Can control/move sand that is not a part of his body at present.
Air/Wind generation: Can create winds, and to a minor degree, affect the weather.
---In conjunction with his mineral body and matter control, this ability allows him to create a sandstorm, of which he is a part...making him all but undetectable, so long as he allows himself to be 'spread out' somewhat...and very hard to injure, as he's surrounded by his element. This tends to be disruptive for civilians, however.
---This ability also allows him to 'fly', while in his sand form.
Equipment:
Vindicator Badge- The badge acts as a communicator, able to contact the Vindicator base or any member, anywhere on the planet. If taken off, it is a cellular phone and a digital camera. Each badge contains a homing beacon.
Weaknesses: Malcolm is vulnerable to extreme heat(which can fuse him into glass...must be sustained or -extremely- potent) and can also be turned into mud, if completely immersed in water. Fortunately, so long as a part of him survives the former, he can regenerate and recover. The latter eventually dries out, or enough escapes that he can 'start over' and let the wet portion fall apart.
