b]Player[/b]: Luc
Name: Caliborn Uskglass
Codename:
Age: 26
Height: 5’2”
Weight:215lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Bright emerald green.
Nationality: Caucasian.
Occupation: Police sergeant. Member of the Black Precinct, Special Operations specialist. Commander of the PI-SWAT unit.
Appearance: A tall, muscular youth. Handsome, with dark hair and eerily green eyes; The sort of eyes that look like he might’ve stolen them out of an Irish fairytale (if theft wasn’t a crime). His ears are faintly pointed, his whole air having some sort of otherworldly grace and poise. Keeps his hair cut short, just shy of a buzz cut. Keeps his face clean shaven, his body unadorned by tattoos or piercings. When working, tends to wear professional clothes; black cargo pants, black shirt and tactical vest. Sidearm always at his hip. His casual dress is very similar, thought he sidearm and the tactical bits are gone, he always has an air of “policeman” about him.
Personality: Energetic. Fickle and flighty at times. Dedicated to the law and to his job; but with a fundamental lack of seriousness. Seems to take life for granted, not giving it the due respect it deserves; that or he takes it overly seriously and in an attempt to maintain his own sanity lashes out against the downtrodden, bleak world. Doesn’t seem to have any form of internal dimmer switch. When he’s on call and working, he’s professional and serious. When not required to be, he is sometimes childish, oftentimes immature and very often a little irresponsible. Charming in the same way a hurricane is a storm. It’s not so much that he says and does the charming things, but he has such a powerful and undeniable force of personality that people tend to go along with him, and find him intoxicating to be around.
Background
Superheroes are new. Superheroes have changed the world. The world is better for them being around, even if it means more super villainy and more excitement in general. Superheroes have made everything different, they are larger than life, four colour persons or dark anti-heroes. The important thing is that they are apart and ‘greater’ then humans.
You know who used to fill that role back in the day? Fairies. The courts of fairy, the pranks, the wars and the stories between the likes of Oberon and Titania. The wrongs and backroom stories of Puck. The fear of the Huntsman. Back before heroes provided their own larger than life people, they had the Fair Folk. The fairies liked it this way damnit! They got attention, they mattered. Then it all started to change. People went away from superstition and into science, the pixies and the elves and the dwarves and the like were forced out of the world and into the places hidden away. Into the shadows of logs and the hidden crypts under forgotten crumbled castles. Immortal though, they watched and savoured it.
Fairies you see are a rule based people. Vows and oaths, courts and titles, laws and sanctions. They fell in love with the idea early on, and have devoted part of their very souls to the idea. So while most would think the rise of heroes would mean anger from them, because of the loss of fame, .it was the opposite. Suddenly, the humans had great people of their very own, titans among them who for all purposes; fought, struggled and died to maintain law and order, to defend good and right against people who worked equally hard to subjugate and destroy. It was a morality play written in the blood of the super humans.
Unrest though. Thoughts of entitlement. “Why do they have these great heroes and we sit and watch them like they were characters in books?” they asked among themselves. “Surely we are just as deserving of having heroes like that amongst us. Nay! More deserving! We did it all first, we shouldn’t be left out of this.”
So, it was decided that the people of the Fair Folk would have their own hero! Someone to boldly enforce their own laws, a peer who would be charged to enforce their arbitrary systems, to act as the mailed fist of “The Rules”. Problem is, the Fair Folk are a fickle, egotistical lot.
“None of us want to do this job. Because half the fun of having these laws is breaking them; or seeing how we can maybe break them. None of us want to be the spoilsport who has to stop us. It’s no fun being a killjoy. Whoever does this will make a great sacrifice, giving up on some of the games to make sure we all play like we should. Who will do it?”
After debate, it was agreed that no existing Fairy lord would be willing to do the job. But, if one of the great ones were to step down and bring themselves back up; they wouldn’t be their old self and might be willing to become the new role they wanted. “It was the humans who started this idea! It should be up to them to forge our hero, it’s only fair!” the Fair Folk roared. So it was done! The great lord of the Fae, stripped of his mind and power was exchanged with a human infant in a suburb of one of the filthy cities. He would have the echo in his soul of his destiny, and would forge himself into the eventual enforcer of the Fae law; the Marshall.
Though Caliborn is destined for a future of great power over the mythical realms, right now...He’s still just a potent changeling, trying to become the lawman he feels drawn to becoming.

Psyche------- (#) Normal, if not a little generic. Fae are kind of fickle, and he has inherited a bit of this.
Hit Points: Ignore this
Mental health: Ignore this
Resources: Police sergeant with special training and a moderate level of command. Quite well off, but not affluent. Does a hard job and is paid fairly for it.
Source of Income- See Above.
Origin of Powers: Changeling/Faerie Powers. Eventual elevation to the role of “Marshall”
Powers:
Eyes for the Law. Caliborn has a natural born, supernatural sense for the law. By looking at a crime scene, he can gain knowledge as to the people involved, the motifs, the means and all the other important criminal matters. If looking at a person, he can use this power to get a sense of whatever crimes they are truly guilty of. This power does not work on the spirit of the law, it is a power that only deals with the strict letter of the local law. Why doesn’t he use this power to solve crimes? A man is innocent until proven guilty, this power might tell him all the details, but it is not a fair means of investigation and so it would never occur to Caliborn to use this power that way. That would be against the rules.
Blessed by the Fickle Fingers of Fate. Caliborn is one of the damned luckiest people alive. He might have clover in his guts, be protected by the fates, or whatever; but whatever the reason, he is that damned lucky. This power doesn’t cause spurts of bad luck to compensate, he suffers only its benefits. From lucky shots, to correctly picking doors, to dodging out of the way of things at the last moment; if there is an element of chance..the chances favour him.
Not Human, so just “Super”. Caliborn is a Changeling, a fairy duplicate put into a crib. He isn’t human, and so isn’t limited by human notions of ‘normal’. Thus his body operates at a more fantastical level of power then it should. This gives him strength, speed, stamina and healing rates all higher than human, about equal to the level of the Green Goblin.
Nemesis Powers. Caliborn's future role in the lands beyond will be to enforce ‘The Rules” on a race of fickle, supernatural beings. As such he has to have a way to bring them to heel if need be. This power lets him attune to a target or situation and gain one or more new ‘Tricks” that allow him to deal with them or it. As an example, against an enemy who uses flames, he might gain cold-breath, to put out fires; or against a shadow being he might gain the ability to emit light or to see in blackness. Think of it like a supernatural variation on Batman’s utility belt. This power has one major drawback, it only functions against things able to cause harm to Caliborn. Against humans, it has a minimal effect. Only significant situations will encage its full power.
Equipment: Police Kit. Access to special weapons and armour, surveillance equipment, etc..etc as his jobs warrant.
Weaknesses:
You have no claim here Lawman[/i} Caliborn is a rule enforcer and a lawman. Against those who have done nothing wrong, against true innocents; he is largely powerless. His powers still operate, but he has an inbuilt, deep sense of reverence for these people and would hardly be able to bring himself to do them harm. He can cause harm to protect them or save lives, but could never inflict unnecessary harm.
Contacts: Police department folks. Dealers in occult paraphernalia and various supernatural groups. (Knows the local Goblin markets, knows who might nor secretly be a vampire, etc..etc.)
Knowledges: Versed in occult and mythological lore. Knowledge of the law and police procedure. Combat knowledge and the like. Knowledge of emergency medicine.
Skills: Trained as a Paramedic in addition to his specialist combat training.
