Player: A-C
Name: Lapsang Souchong
Codename: Yi Sheng
Age: 16
Height: 5'3";
Weight: 110
Hair: Medium tone, very rich brown
Eyes: Mid-brown
Nationality: Chinese American.
Occupation: Student
Appearance:
Lapsang Souchong is a short, delicate young girl. It is also fair to say she is a petite lady; she's a thin, frail little thing who looks, and acts, like she might break in half after naught more than a stern word.
She has mousey brown hair, cut into a jaw length bob cut. She hopes this will offset her asian facial features. It does not.
Typically, Sou wears very modest clothing. Long skirts and ornate oriental shirts are the norm, although she owns several cheongsam, withheld for special occasions. Or when she feels like it.
Costume:
Although Sou tries not to go to battle, she does have a uniform she can wear should the situation require it. It looks like a Japanese-style nurses uniform, complete with a little hat. The costume is entirely white in colour, save for the hat, which carries her insignia in the centre.
The costume is made from an experimental fabric developed by Sou's parents. The material, like its owner, is constantly repairing itself so that any damage or imperfection is repaired in a matter of minutes.
Insignia:
Sou's insignia is a small red circle, adorned with a white cross. It's the symbol of the red cross, except with the colours reversed for legal reasons.
Personality:
Souchong's thin, frail build is reflected in her psyche. She is convinced that the world and its wife are out to get her, cart her away to a testing facility and do unspeakable things to her on account of her powers. She maintains that the fact it hasn't happened only means it's one day closer to happening.
Generally, Sou is calm, quiet and withdrawn. She carries herself with an almost aloof, serene grace that comes from someone who has spent most of her life hanging back, observing. If, however, one were to get to know Souchong and to look beyond her distant, almost aloof nature, they'd find that she isn't holding herself above her peers. Rather, she is keeping herself from making friends because she feels this is the best course of action given her powers.
Background:
Lapsang Souchong is a mutant. Specifically, she was born with a sensational healing factor. Her parents were, initially, blind to their daughters mutation, instead believing her to be a hardy individal, much like every child her age. The souchong's naivety continued until their daughter was eight, when a horrendous accident in the kitchen completely failed to leave a lasting mark.
Lapsang continued living her life as she always had; oblivious to the fact she was different to those around her. Sou's parents revealed the truth to her on her sixteenth birthday. As if that weren't enough, they told their daughter how her mutation had inspired their favourite pet project.
You see, Sou's parents were both scientists working for Zillion Industries. Drawing inspiration from their daughters genetic oddities they had conspired to develop a fabric suffused with various compounds that would constantly maintain itself and instantly set right any imperfections.
Lapsang was distraught by the news; Not so much with the reveal that she was a mutant, but more that her parents had conducted experiments based on her genetics. She began to realise that, if her parents had no qualms conducting research on her, then nobody would. To make matters worse, her powers were steadily becoming more deep rooted and more effective as she began healing the wounds of those around her, rather than just herself.
After her parents made their big reveal, Lapsang began to feel that she was not safe. Her fear, coupled with her realisation that there are some truly evil people in the world, caused Sou to resign from her social life, resigning herself to hiding in her room and studying alone.
The Souchong's began to ask around for a solution to their problem and it was not long before word of their plight reached the ears of a certain higher-up within zillian Industries. The aforesaid (but strangely unidentified) executive used her knowledge of and contacts within the Sunshine of Destiny Academy to extend an invitation to the Souchong family, allowing Lapsang a place to study and flower without the constant fear of abduction.
After a time at the school, Sou learned that her powers were more complicated than she believed. She moved on to better understand and control them, and expand her use of them. She also came to learn that the boy she had been 'dating' was in fact dead. He had died in front of her months prior, and she empathically absorbed his emotional field. This led her to hallucinate him, but she has since overcome this. With it, came the ability to suppress her powers.

Hit Points: 124
Mental health: 90
Resources: A substantial amount of money, up to, say, fifty thousand.
Source of Income- Sou has a minor fashion design bussiness. SHe also receives money from her parents.
Contacts - The science team at the company her parents work for.
Origin of Powers: Mutant
Powers:
Bio-Energy Production-
Biokinetic Life- A by-product of her powers, Sou has Fantastic(30) extra Hit Points.
Positive/Negative Biokinesis- Sou has Biokinesis at Spectacular(50) rank, though she cannot always control it at that level. Her Biokinesis can only be used to affect the flesh of herself and others. Sou must choose between Positive or Negative Biokinesis, shutting off all powers of the opposing type.[/i]
Positive Biokinesis
*Proximity Healing- This affects any organic, living being within Excellent(14) feet of her, granting them Typical(8) Regeneration (8 HP per round). This ability is indiscriminate, and affects Sou herself as well.
*Regeneration- Sou regenerates with Spectacular(50) ability (5 HP per round).
If someone under this effect already has Regeneration of Spectacular(50) or better, instead of gaining Regeneration, their normal Regeneration is doubled.
Sou can now supress this ability at will. She can turn it to 'on' or 'off' once per round. While her Proximity Healing is active, Sou cannot use her Biokenises or any stunts other than Close Wound. Sou's own body regenerates redardless of whether this is active.
*Close Wound- By making physical contact and spending an action, Sou can heal the entirety of a single injury instantly.
*Lifelink- Sou can bestow regeneration per her Proximity Healing on any one person so long as she remains within Excellent(14) feet of them. However, she takes damage equal to 10% (rounded up) of whatever damage she heals.
*Shock Wounds- Sou can instantly heal a slashing wound she causes in melee. This causes no net damage, but occours so fast the body is 'shocked' into believing it was damaged. This illusionary HP loss counts toward the victim's knockout but not toward their death.
*Redirect Vitality- Sou can move her body mass around to alter her physical abilities. She may give herself -1CS to three of her physical attributes and, in exchange, give +3CS to the remaining attribute. She may only adjust this one level at a time and once per round.
Note: Sou can do this more than once, but not to the same stat. By spending 2 rounds, she could end up with -2 to two stats and +2 to the other two for something more balanced.
Vitality- By rolling Psyche, Lapsang can turn her bio-energy into Chi, temporarily gaining great increase in her physical ability.
On a Yellow result, she gets +4CS to Fighting, Agility, and Strength.
On a Yellow result, this lasts for one hour. The duration is Reverse-Modified by the roll result.
She retains her own regeneration while she is in this state, but does not have her proximity healing.
Negative Biokinesis
*Proximity Damage- This affects any organic, living being within Excellent(14) feet of her, doing Typical(8) damage (8 HP per round). This damage is not reduced by armor or True Invulnerability. This ability is indiscriminate, and affects everything alive around her.
Sou can supress this ability at will. She can turn it to 'on' or 'off' once per round. While Proximity Damage is active, Sou cannot use her Biokinesis or any stunts other than Open Wound.
*Open Wound- By making phsyical contact and spending an action, Sou can cause her Biokinesis in damage. Sou can do this instantly. This damage is not reduced by armor.
*Woundlink- Sou can bestow a negative regeneration per her Proximity Damage on any one person, so long as she remains within Excellent(14) feet of them. She heals damage equal to 10% (rounded up) of whatever damage she deals.
*Brutal Wounds- Sou can instantly break apart a slashing wound she causes in melee. This causes an extra +10 damage that is not reduced by armor. Additionally, it negates regeneration for the hit points lost from this attack for two rounds.
*Redirect Physiology- Sou can move her body mass around to alter her physique. She may give herself sudden boosts in her physical capabilities. For one action, Sou may make use of Hyper-Leap (Up to her strength in feet), Super Strength (Able to lift and throw up to +4CS of her Strength in inanimate objects), or Super Speed (Able to run at Agility MPH).
Empathy- Sou has empathy at rank equal to her Psyche. This allows her to read the emotions of others. If a target's psyche is higher than hers, she must roll until she scores equal to their rating.
*Dreamcatcher- Sou automatically absorbs the negative emotions of those around her. This ability is active when her Proximity Healing field is, and she cannot use her Empathy or other Empathy stunts while it is active. This ability is indiscriminate.
*Inspire- Sou can roll Psyche to inspire emotions into a target. This has one of four effects; Physical Attribute Boost, Mental Attribute Boost, Physical Attribute Hinder, Mental Attribute Hinder. She may only have one target under her power at any given time. A Yellow result modifies the chosen attributes by 2CS.
Inspire may be used out-of-combat instead to influence the actions of a person.
*Euphoric Stun- Roll Empathy until reaching successes equal to the target's Psyche. Those equipped to reisist may roll Psyche to negate her successes. Once she has won, the target is overcome with positive emotions and useless till the end of the scene. Sou gets -1CS to Psyche till end of scene for each person she does this to.
*Catatonic Stun- As Euphoric Stun, however with negative emotions. This has a risk of long-term effects and more dangerous backlash possibilities.
*Enamor- Sou can attempt to force positive feelings in regards to herself onto a person. She must roll Empathy until she gets double their Psyche score in success. An Enamored person loves and adores Sou; romantically if she wants, but generally just a loyal idolization of the girl. If the person can resist, does not know her, or actively dislikes her, each of her psyche rolls will be resisted by the target. If the target scores higher than twice Sou's Psyche, they are immune to her effects.
Once Sou has Enamored a person they stay that way long-term. However, every day they go without seeing her, they regain 10 points of their right mind. If they resisted in the first place, they may roll Psyche once per day to fight off the effects. Otherwise, if something happens to shake her hold (she dos something terrible, they catch a lie, they meet the one they really love) they may roll Psyche and possibly get to continue to resist daily.
However, Sou can roll Empathy once per day to 're-up' a person she has Enamored.
Note: This is playing with fire. Enamored people are crazy. Watch out, Sou!
*Terrify- Similar to the mechanic above, this makes the target terrified of Sou, fleeing or cowering in her presence. Persons who do not know her or who are not impressed by her may resist. Initial resistors may still resist on a daily basis but do not regain their right mind by not being around her. As above, if anything shakes this hold, the target may begin resisting. Sou rolls this at -1CS because she is not very scary.
EQUIPMENT
First Aid Kit- Sou's backpack, when turned inside out, is white and loaded down with medical supplies. She may roll Reasoning (while out of combat) to patch someone up. On a Yellow, the effects of any healing on that person is increased by 100%.
Shaolin Spade- This weapon telescopes short and folds up to fit mounted inside her backpack, but can be snapped out as a free action. As a weapon, it deals +10 damage. Individually, the crescent end gets +2cs to called shots. The bell end does 2x damage on a power attack instead of the normal 1.5x.
Empathic Cannon- A small, wrist mounted cannon. Can be Activated or De-Activated at will. While Activated, Sou cannot use her Empathic powers, as the cannon is absorbing them. Sou may fire absorbed psychic energy to deal Fantastic (30) Psychic Energy damage. This damage ignores Armor. This damage does not harm non-living objects. If De-Activated before being fired, Sou loses 1 rank of Psyche. Ranks of Psyche return after a good nights rest.
Weaknesses:
Hippocratic- While not a Superhero weakness as such, Sou cannot control her healing factor. She cannot aim it, strengthen or weaken it and she cannot control who is and is not affected by it, she simply heals any and all people who get close enough. Thus, if she were to get close to her mortal enemy, she'd heal them as a direct result of it. The same goes for any passing civilians, animals, etc. However, she can now supress it at will.
Empathic Cannon- If Sou reduces her Psyche to Feeble(4) or lower, Sou falls into a catatonic state for 2d2 days, afterwhich she wakes up at Poor(6) Psyche. She can recover back to full after two nights sleep.
Paranoia- Lapsang thinks people are out to get her, to exploit her powers.
Sin-Eater- The negative emotions Sou takes from people become her own. She must process them, or pass them on. For a long time she let this darkness consume her, and she is at risk for a relapse.
Skills-
Given the amount of time she has spent outside of social circles, Sou has taught herself a great many craft-based skills. She is good at drawing, painting, sewing, knitting, cooking, playing various musical instruments and other such hobbies.
Sou can roll Reasoning to perform first aid on all manner of injuries.
Knowledge-
Sou is fluent in Chinese and English.
She is also fairly knowledgable in a wide variety of areas. She specialises in survival tactics.
