GRAVEYARD SHIFT
Player: Rowena
Name: Lily Duckworthy
Codename: Effigy
Age: 19
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 135
Hair:Dark Brown Auburn
Eyes:Brown Bluegreen
Nationality: Caucasian
Occupation: Graveyard Shift
Appearance:Lily is a thin girl with thick, tangled curls of dark brown hair. She has little brown eyes and a dull complexion, and she wears a lot of makeup but it does not seem to suit her. She's a little gangly and underdeveloped for her age, and largely just looks like an average girl.
Lily looks completely different now that she's dead. She is the same height and still thin, but she is nicely developed and a bit voluptuous. She has big, sparkly blue eyes that fade to green toward the center and a smooth face with full lips. Her complexion is just as smooth and she has a very nice glow to her flesh for someone who is both dead AND ginger. Most notably, she now has long, luxurious red hair in big generous curls. Makeup looks very, very nice on her now, and she tends to put it on extra-fancy.
Picture:
Beautiful picture is the work of Miss Deadly Red at miss-deadlyred.deviantart.com/
Personality: Lily used to be a mousy squeak of a girl. She knew she was not pretty but did not know that caking makeup on her face would not fix this. She was her parents least favorite and was socially awkward at school, and all this led to a very low self esteem.
The change in her personality after her death was as drastic as that of her appearance. She now has massive self-esteem, to the point of being quite in love with herself. She is confident and flirty and decisive, and she loves to be the center of attention and have people look at her. She's not a bad person, though - just very happy with who she is.
Background: Lily comes from what one would call a normal family. Two children, white picked fence, literally, there was nothing more her parents could ask for but a normal young child. Her brother showed no ability or powers and had enrolled in the military while Lily's wind power emerged but she was always told to hold it in, to hide it away to be normal.
She went to school and studied the weather, she wanted to be a scientist, find out how everything works and still used her powers when she was alone, out in the woods but never for long since her parents had a tight hold on her schedule to make sure she wouldn’t try using those special powers.
Shortly after her brother went off to the military, her parents decided they did not need such a big estate, and moved to a luxury condo in Los Angeles. The big city did not have woods for her to practice her abilities in, and her few friends were left far behind, and she was miserable. Unable to stand the cabin fever anymore, she founds out the densest selection of trees she could - the park! She used her powers in the park, getting better with them. Unfortunately, the Sentinel Act was passed. It wasn't long before one happened to be walking by while she was doing her thing.
It came crashing through the trees - the white-armored Sakura Series. "Cease, Mutation!" it yelled, charging up its weapons. In a panic, Lily defended herself, rising into the air with her powers and sending swirls of wind to bombard the robot with debris. The twigs and pebbles she sprayed it with did nothing, but soon her powers starting picking up rocks and branches that cracked and punctured the sentinel's polymer armor. This causes the Sakura Series to authorize lethal force, and it fired at her with its standard pink beam, but this was deflected by her spinning winds. It upgraded and fired upon her with a cone of fusing plasma and - well, that worked. The wind died down and a charred skeleton fell to the park floor.
Somehow, Lily woke up later on a cold stone slab. She sat up to look around, and felt an unusual spring in her spine and a pleasing weight to her body. Looking at herself, she found this body she was in was not hers - this body was gorgeous. She soon met Alice Danvers, who explained that she'd been brought back from the dead - but there was so little left to work with that Alice had to sort of re-build her from the bones up and did not know what she was supposed to look like. Perhaps Lily should have been more upset about this, but she was too enamored with her own appearance. Her new look filled her with confidence, and she was happy to join Alice's crusade against sentinels and ignorance.

Fighting----- Remarkable (20)
Agility------ Spectacular (50)
Strength----- Remarkable (20)
Endurance---- Fantastic (30)
Reasoning---- Good (10)
Intuition---- Fantastic (30)
Psyche------- Fantastic (30)
Hit Points: 120
Mental health: 70
Resources: Poor
Source of Income- Money they can scrounge and anything they can steal
Origin of Powers: Magical Zombie Mutant
Powers:
Aerokinesis- Lily has the Fantastic(30) ability to control normal air. -1CS if trying to control a pure gas.
*Wind- Lily can generate a sustained current of wind that remains active for as long as she concentrates on it. The line is by default Remarkable(30) feet wide and has Good(10) Strength. This allows it to affect non-aerodynamic things up to 100 pounds. Entities fighting against the force of the wind get -1CS to Strength and to projectile attack damage. Tightening the line by 10 feet doubles its power. This line need not be straight.
**Wind Barrier- Instead of sending the current out, she can wrap it tightly around herself. This gives her Good(10) Armor versus all damage.
*Flight- Lily can ride the winds for True Flight at her normal agility and Feeble(2) Air Speed (30MPH). She may give herself -1CS to Agility to increase her Air Speed by +1CS, however she can only do this twice. -1CS gets her 60 mph, -2 gets her 90 mph. Flying forms a mini Wind Barrier that protects her from the hazards of high-speed flight.
*Debris Gun- Lily commands a tight, fast gust of wind to swirls along the ground before launching at the enemy. This picks up debris from the ground and blasts it at the enemy for Good(10) Damage. When used as multiple attacks, the winds gets more powerful. In a single flurry of attacks, every time Lily rolls a Yellow or better attack (whether it hits or not) the next attack she rolls gets +1CS base damage. This only works one flurry at a time and cannot carry into the next turn.
*Wind Devil- As a ranged attack, Lily can whip up a mini-tornado on the ground and send it after someone. It has Fantastic(30) Strength to move things. If a person fails to evade it, they must roll Strength vs Strength against it and if they lose they are knocked prone. These are also good for putting out fires and cleaning up messes.
Zombie Powers:
Undead- The dead body is not affected by diseases or most poisons, it is not affected by effects that stun or make one bleed.
*Only Good Mutant- Sentinels that scan the undead mutant will detect it as an already dead mutant, even if it is using its power, and largely ignore it. The zombie must be significantly aggressive to the Sentinel or another party to get the Sentinel to attack it.
*Undeath- The zombie is dead and has trouble dying further. Unless the body is completely annihilated, they will come back eventually. However, any serious removal of body parts may have to be manually replaced.
Enhanced Strength- +2CS to Strength, reflected in stats.
Darkvision- The undead can see without light.
Feral Senses- The undead have hearing and smell like animals, and only get -1CS when blinded.
*Tracking- Roll Intuition to track by scent.
Ghoul's Grin- As a free action, the zombie can transform their mouth - cheeks pulling back ear-to-ear, every tooth transforming into a large, sharp, flesh-ripping grey fang. Biting is clumsy, and it is -1 to attack and an additional -1 for every consecutive bite (in addition to the multiple action penalty), but it does double Strength in damage and has Fantastic(30) Armor Piercing. The zombie can change their mouth back to normal as a free action.
Corpse Claws- As a free action, the zombie can transform their nails into horrible sharp claws. These do Strength in damage with Good(10) Armor Piercing.
*Skullbite- A special move, the zombie can announce this and roll Claw, Claw, Bite - the bite not suffering the normal penalty. If all three attacks hit with a Yellow or better, the Zombie deals their Bite damage directly to the victim's head like a called shot. If all three attacks do NOT score a yellow or better, each successful attack does Strength in damage with no Armor Piercing. This does not work on PCs or major NPCs.
Regeneration- If the zombie is well fed, it has Good(10) Regeneration (10 HP per round).
Death Throes: The ritual that revives the dead grants them a power based upon the wound that slew them.
The plasma cone that engulfed Lily not only incinerated her flesh, but the air she was commanding at the time. Now, that fire belongs to her.
Pyromancy- Lily can ignite the air she controls, turning it to flame. This gives her Fantastic(30) Pyrokinesis over her own flames.
*Flame Resistance- Lily only takes half damage from fire attacks.
*Flame Bolt- Lily can fire from her hand a bolt of flame that deals Remarkable(20) fire damage.
*Flame Devil- Flaming Wind Devils operate the same as normal ones, but deal Good(10) fire damage, and set their target on fire for an additional Poor(6) fire damage at the beginning of each of their turns until they are put out. These will not set things on fire if they are soaking wet or otherwise particularly flameproof.
Effigy Form- Lily's wound is a big one to open, and doing so costs her HP equal to her Endurance (30). Her flesh burns away, leaving her as a dark skeleton in an aura of roaring flames. She can still use her Ghoul's Grin and Corpse Claws, making her quite fearsome. She gets +1CS to Fighting. However, she does not have Regeneration in this form.
*Flameproof- Effigy has Amazing(60) True Invulnerability vs fire damage. This replaces Flame Resistance.
*Them Dry Bones- Effigy has Good(10) Natural Armor.
*Greater Flame Bolt- Effigy can fire from her hand a bolt of flame that deals Fantastic(30) fire damage.
*Flame Barrier- As Effigy, Lily does not have the Wind Barrier, and instead has the Flame Barrier, which is constantly active. It gives her Good(10) damage vs all damage, which increases to Remarkable(20) Invulnerability vs projectiles. Anyone attacking her unarmed takes Remarkable(20) Fire damage, and attacking her with a small weapon (knife, pistol handle, beer bottle) rewards them with Good(10) Fire damage. She gets Good(10) Fire damage added to her unarmed attacks and deals Remarkable(20) to anything she tries to pick up. This stacks with her Natural Armor. The Flaming Barrier allows her to fly as per her Wind Flight.
*Flaming Wind- Even though her Flame Barrier is always up, Effigy can use Wind. She can also ignite it into Flaming Wind, which operates the dame but is a persistent area-of-effect attack. The 30 foot Line deal Good(10) Damage per round; tightening it by 10 feet doubles the damage. This attack does not discriminate.
*Flame Burst- At any time, Effigy can spend an action to reduce the damage of a ranged attack by Remarkable(30) points. This is resisted by Armor Piercing. Effigy creates a sudden small explosion of flame between the attack and its target.
*Flameout- As an action, Effigy can turn back to Lily. Her clothes and equipment reappear unharmed, but not the HP she spent; she must regain them normally.
Equipment: As Powers above, you don't need to write anything here but hey feel free. 'Equipment' is stuff you carry, from a weapon to a high tech gadget. If you have a gun, post it here.
Phylactery- Each zombie carries a phylactery for Alice, their leader. Lily's is a spiraling impressionist leaf necklace.
Makeup Kit- Lily carries a complicated compact with various makeups and facial accessories.
Weaknesses:
The Hunger- The zombies eat human flesh. They can eat other things, but the human flesh is generally mandatory every couple days. It is best to feed every few days. The results of denying oneself are predictable.
-Day One, A healthy glow- Throughout the first day the zombie has gone without feeding, they can still pass for a weird human and they maintain their Regeneration.
-Day Two, the Grave starts to show- On the second day, the eyes and cheeks start to sink in, the face begins to gray - a good look at the face or body will warn that this is not a human. Regeneration is halved.
-Day Three, the Hunger's in your head- On the third day, the corpse appearance is enhanced, and madness is in the eyes. There is no regeneration. The body calls for sustenance, and the Hunger's demands give -1CS to all rolls that do not directly relate to chowing down on a person, and +2cs to all that do!
-Day Four, everyone you love is dead- On the fourth day, the Hunger does not want to wait. -2CS to anything not directly related to feeding. Whenever any living human is seen, roll Psyche. On a Yellow, the Zombie can resist the hunger, for the moment, and get away. On a Red, the zombie can stick around for a few minutes without harming anyone. On a Green, the Hunger is as strong as the zombie and the zombie may only hold perfectly still and say one word. On a White or worse, the zombie must attack and attempt to feed on someone in the vicinity they see. The Psyche roll does not get the -2 penalty,. however the roll is at -1 each time they encounter the same person before they manage to feed.
Every day beyond this, the Psyche roll to not attack gets an additional -1CS, and the Zombie loses a ran of Endurance.
Should they manage to lose all their Endurance, they will die again.
Should they run out of Psyche before Endurance, the Hunger takes over and they go looking for someone to eat. The Hunger takes them to where it knows there will be people, and that usually leads back home...
*The Hunger Mantra- The Zombie can push themselves back to the effects of the previous day by taking -2CS to all actions and repeating the Hunger Mantra whenever their condition is aggravated.
Unholy- Despite the zombie's actual alignment, their magic comes from a dark place. They are considered to be a dark/unholy/negative creature.
You're So Vain- Lily is a little full of herself. She is easily distracted by pretty things or places she can check herself out, and is at risk of being easily influenced by people who compliment her.
Drain Bramage- Some chunks of Lily's brain had to be completely replaced. She is still a clever girl, but is about -2CS lower in Reasoning than she was when she was alive.
Snuff- If Effigy's fire is put out, she loses all her Effigy abilities except for natural armor and cannot fly or regenerate. She must be re-ignited to use her fire powers or change back to Lily and until then is just a walking skeleton.

Knowledges: Lily's father is a bureaucrat, and she has a good idea of what government office handles what.
